Berry Health Benefits Symposium

On January 31st-February 2nd, 2023, a selection of the world’s most renowned berry researchers gathered in Tampa, Florida, USA in order to present the latest research and data that attracts media and consumer attention to berries as a superfruit.

Behind news releases on how berries improve immune, heart and gut health, as well as memory and skin health is the work of research scientists. The Berry Health Benefits Symposium is an international conference dedicated to showcasing the latest scientific research by these men and women into berries and health.

The symposium, which has been held biennially since 2005, features cutting edge findings in many areas including cognition, berry phytochemicals and metabolites on cardiovascular function & cardio-metabolic health, gut health & gut microflora, food technology & chemistry and berry special topics.

Our Scientific Director, Stephan Plattner, attended the 9th edition of the event together with our strong partner and Artemis International who sponsored the Symposium.

On February 1, 2023, Melanie Bush, Artemis International VP of Science & Research joined the Berry Supplements Panel Discussion to discuss specifics of safeguarding the quality of berry supplements, and shared thoughts on what the future holds for this important category.

On February 2, 2023, Dr. Jessie Hawkins, PhD of Franklin Health Research presented the findings from a randomized, double blind, placebo controlled clinical trial on European Black Currant and Digital Eye Strain.
